Aristocrat Leisure Limited announced a modest 1% rise in operating income for the half-year ending March 31, 2021, achieving AU$2.2 billion (US$1.7 billion) against the corresponding period the year prior.

The firm ascribed this expansion to robust results in its online, Americas, and ANZ gaming divisions, bolstered by favorable feedback from vendors. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) climbed by 6% to AU$750.3 million, surpassing the AU$707.6 million recorded the preceding year.

Net earnings after tax reached AU$411.6 million, a 12% surge compared to the AU$368.1 million posted in the prior year. The financial reports were audited by PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Aristocrat’s gambling revenue amounted to AU$1 billion, indicating a 14% decline from AU$1.2 billion. Divisional earnings contracted by 13% from AU$560.4 million to AU$487.9 million. The Americas territory generated US$609.5 million, while the ANZ territory witnessed revenue of AU$209.5 million, signifying a near 2% uptick.

“Gaming has rebounded vigorously in principal US and ANZ territories, propelled by market-leading product effectiveness; both the Americas and ANZ delivered expansion on a constant currency basis,” the report stated.

Aristocrat Digital recorded revenue of US$895.8 million, a substantial 29% leap from the US$695.5 million reported during the parallel period last year. Reservations also experienced a 29% surge, escalating from US$6.976 billion to US$8.99 billion.

Divisional earnings attained US$301.2 million, a considerable 52% year-over-year increase compared to US$197.6 million in 2020. “Sustained, elevated levels of internal investment propelled heightened Lifetime Value (LTV), with User Acquisition (UA) at 28% of revenue,” the report indicated.

Notwithstanding the difficulties of the previous year, Aristocrat Leisure maintains a hopeful outlook. Their robust results in the closing months of 2021 showcase their capacity to adjust and prosper. Possessing a sound financial standing, they are advantageously situated to seek fresh avenues for expansion.
