A prominent entertainment and lodging corporation, Boyd Gaming, spread festive joy by contributing more than $180,000 to charitable organizations through their yearly “Wreaths of Hope and Trees of Giving” contest.
More than 160 charitable groups across the nation, each championing various causes, took part in Boyd’s recent holiday philanthropic endeavor. They adorned wreaths and holiday trees, which were showcased at 22 different Boyd establishments.
Patrons could cast their vote for their preferred charities either digitally or by visiting the participating venues. The contest attracted over 100,000 votes across the country.
Among the participating venues were Delta Downs Racetrack, Casino & Hotel in Louisiana, Valley Forge Casino Resort in Pennsylvania, and Main Street Station in the heart of Las Vegas.
Boyd’s “Wreaths of Hope and Trees of Giving” initiative has been ongoing for 14 years and continues to expand. In 2021, it surpassed several milestones, encompassing the overall award sum, the quantity of participating locations, the number of charitable groups involved, and the volume of votes received.
In contrast to 2020, which was already a banner year for the initiative, the award sum rose by $35,000, four additional locations joined, and 25 more charitable groups were included.
Initiated in 2007, the philanthropic arm of the Boyd Gaming Corporation has generated in excess of a million dollars for non-profit organizations throughout America. With headquarters in Las Vegas, Boyd Gaming is a significant entity in the gambling sector, boasting 28 gaming establishments across ten states. Although significantly impacted by the global health crisis, the corporation has rebounded robustly in recent periods, experiencing a 29% surge in earnings during the third quarter of 2021.
