Azerion Goes on Acquisition Spree to Conquer the Gaming Market

Written by By Lincoln "Lynx" Lang Jun13,2024

The digital entertainment and media company, Azerion, has been on a significant acquisition spree, acquiring businesses at a rapid pace. They just shelled out a cool €12 million (approximately $11.7 million in US dollars) on a series of purchases.

Among their notable acquisitions was Vlyby, a German advertising technology firm specializing in automated video advertising. Essentially, they assist publishers in generating revenue by streamlining the sale of ad inventory. Azerion also acquired several other assets, including firms that offer revenue-generating solutions for online publishers in Italy and France.

Combined, these acquisitions generated a respectable €14 million in income last year. Not bad at all! Azerion financed these acquisitions through a combination of cash and equity, because who doesn’t appreciate a classic stock transaction?

Atilla Aytekin, Azerion’s co-CEO, appears quite content with the company’s buying binge. He states that Azerion is constantly seeking strategic acquisitions to fuel their business expansion.

Furthermore, they seem to have ambitious aspirations for the days ahead. Earlier this year, Azerion joined forces with MediaMath, another advertising technology company, aiming to become the “Walmart and Amazon of gaming.” Ambitious? Certainly. However, with their recent acquisitions, they might possess the necessary resources to achieve this goal.

This agreement enables brands and marketing firms to access Azerion’s user base, both through their internal frameworks and MediaMath’s autonomous platform. Established in 2014 by two Dutch business founders, Azerion has subsequently become a publicly traded company, and their stock can now be found on the Euronext Amsterdam exchange.
