## Gaming Powerhouse Aristocrat to Purchase Playtech in Billion-Dollar Deal
Playtech, a top provider of gambling software, is set to be purchased by Australian gaming behemoth Aristocrat in a transaction valued at roughly $2.9 billion.
The agreement stipulates that Playtech investors will receive a cash payout of £6.80 (US$9.35) for each share held. This constitutes a substantial increase compared to Playtech’s recent stock market valuation.
Aristocrat views this acquisition as a crucial element of its growth plan, particularly within the rapidly expanding internet gambling sector. The corporation referenced forecasts indicating that online gambling earnings will reach $112 billion by 2025.
Aristocrat’s Chief Executive, Trevor Croker, underscored the synergistic capabilities of both organizations. He emphasized that the merged entity would be strategically positioned to leverage the worldwide surge in online gambling, especially in the North American market.
To fund the acquisition, Aristocrat intends to secure approximately AUD$1.3 billion through a share issuance.
The bidding party further stated that Playtech’s directors and a significant investor holding almost a fifth of the company support the proposal, although no formal statement has been released by Playtech at this time.
