A digital agency specializing in apps and user experiences, Mkodo, is cautioning gaming entities about recent App Store regulations from Apple. The technology leader is revising its policies, and now any application facilitating sports wagers, casino entertainment, bingo, or lottery must transcend mere website functionality.
This revision, designated as version 4.2, mandates that these applications provide distinctive attributes, content not accessible through their Safari-based websites, and a unique user interface. Apple’s stance is unambiguous: applications require differentiating elements that set them apart. Mkodo believes this update carries significant weight and will influence a wide array of companies, irrespective of scale.
Stuart Godfree, Mkodo’s Managing Director and co-founder, articulated it succinctly: Apple expects applications to diverge from their web counterparts, necessitating adjustments for both existing and forthcoming applications. App Store rejection can lead to costly setbacks, impacting both timelines and allocations.
Consequently, collaborating with partners possessing a deep understanding of the App Store and Google Play Store’s intricacies is paramount. Such partnerships can ensure application approvals and circumvent avoidable postponements.
