Lottoland has made its lottery wagering offerings available in the South African market. This follows the company’s acquisition of two permits from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board.
Lottoland has been given a permit to provide fixed-odds betting, which is a B2C license for consumers, and a manufacturing license to create and utilize its own software for business operations, which is a B2B license.
The fixed-odds betting license has resulted in the launch of its Lottoland.co.za website, which provides odds on over 30 lottery outcomes worldwide. Lottoland notes that the launch marks the first time South African players can win record-breaking jackpots by wagering on the results of draws such as the US Mega Millions and Powerball.
Its manufacturing license will allow its Lottland Solutions B2B division to collaborate with licensed betting companies in South Africa, enabling them to offer lottery wagering products to their clientele. The B2B products are powered by Lottoland’s proprietary risk management solutions, which the operator recently stated had paid out €90 million to a single player.

Lottoland currently possesses twelve regulatory permits globally, a significant accomplishment that demonstrates the company’s robust presence as a worldwide brand. Nigel Birrell, Lottoland’s Chief Executive Officer, stated that the company is confident in its unique position within the South African market, capable of providing fixed-odds lottery offerings and insurance services, enabling South Africans to compete for some of the world’s largest jackpots.
