Triumph Games declared the hiring of former William Hill leader Julio Iglesias Hernando as its new Chief Commercial Officer.
Hernando joins Greece-based Triumph Games from William Hill, where he previously served as Chief Marketing Officer and Head of International Operations.
In that position, Hernando supervised William Hill’s operations in 12 markets outside the US and UK, including the Mr Green division.
Triumph Games stated the appointment is part of its strategic plan to add global experience to its leadership team to support its expansion plans for its Betano brand.
Betano operates in Brazil, Portugal, Germany, Romania, Greece, and Cyprus.
“I am excited to contribute to the continued success of Triumph Games as a leading operator in its markets, and to utilize international opportunities and challenges as we aim to continue our aggressive growth in the global gaming technology sector,” Hernando said.
The head honcho at Triumph, George Dascalakis, expressed his confidence in Julio’s abilities. He believes Julio’s experience, expertise, and ambition, coupled with his positive outlook and collaborative spirit, will propel Triumph towards becoming a global industry leader.
This appointment follows the recent hiring of Klaus Jansen as the new head of Affiliate Marketing and Media Buying.
OPAP, a subsidiary of the Sazka Group, owns a significant portion of Triumph, holding a 36.75% stake. In November, OPAP acquired an additional 15.48% stake in Stoiximan Group’s Greek and Cypriot operations from Triumph, increasing its ownership in that segment of the business to 84.48%.
